The book is divided into two parts, first, the journey of Christian to the Celestial City from the City of Destruction and second, is the journey of Christiana, Christian's wife and his children's journey to the Celestial City from the City of Destruction. The book starts with Christian meeting a guy named Evangelist who tells him that the place he is staying that is the City of Destruction is going to be destroyed and hence he have to leave this city and go to the Celestial City.
