Clockwork Angel (Infernal Devices #1) by Cassandra Clare

Image
Stars : 5/5  16-year old Theresa Gray (Tessa as she's called) comes to London from New York in reply to her brother, Nathaniel Gray's letter. The moment she steps out of the port, two warlock sisters collectively known as the 'Dark Sisters' kidnaps her. They train her to bring out the hidden power in her and use it, so that they can give her to a mysterious man who is referred as 'The Magister'. Eventually a shadowhunter saves her from there. And from then on the mysteries of the Shadow World unwinds in front of her. I read it and I just don't know what to say. It's a phenomenal book. The writing is super good. I've already started reading 'Clockwork Prince'. After reading the five books in The Mortal Instruments Series and the Clockwork Angel, Cassandra Clare has easily made her way in my all time favorite authors list. Give me any book she has written and I'm definitely gonna devour it.

Percy Jackson and the Lightening Thief by Rick Riordan

Review: 3/5 Ok so I read this book. And I'm kind of having mixed feelings. 12-year old Percy Jackson was having a perfectly normal school life, well not exactly normal. But his life rapidly changes after he accidently vaporizes his maths teacher. He realizes that the things that he used to consider as myths were true. And now the biggest truth of his life was that, that he was a demigod (half human and half god), just not that, he is the son of Poseidon, the sea god. And suddenly he is accused of stealing Zeus' lightening bolt. And now he have to prove himself not guilty and retrieve the lightening bolt from the real thief. I can't disagree with this, that it was a page turner. Some parts were really gripping but overall I was not quite satisfied as in many parts I felt it was too boring. But I enjoyed it as well. But still, I may recommend people to read it. They might enjoy it more than me.
