AB: The Autobiography by AB de Villiers

                                                          Ratings: 5/5 (on Goodreads)

I just don't know what to say about this book, this book created a huge impact on me. Usually I don't read non-fiction, if I'm not wrong this is my third non-fiction. I read this book, firstly, because I'm a huge cricket fan and secondly, AB is one of my most favorite cricket player of all time.
Because this was an autobiography, I didn't have any expectations from it, I thought this was gonna be a boring read for me, but I was terribly mistaken. The way this book is written is so beautiful. I used to think that only fiction books will let your emotions to flow out, that only they can make you picturize the events in your mind that occur in that book, but again I was proved wrong. Whenever AB described a match in the form of words, I was able to imagine it happening right in front of me. Whenever South Africa won a match, it was like I won it, whenever South Africa lost, it was like I lost it. When Mark Boucher had to retire due to an injury, I felt really bad. When Graeme Smith retired, I cried. When South Africa lost in 2015 World Cup semi-finals against New Zealand, I cried. I get it that I'm an emotional person, but that's not the point, I never knew that a non-fiction could do this to me, but this book proved me wrong. I really really loved this book. This book made me like AB more and more. I adore him a lot. He is such a humble guy. I wish that I could meet him in person. This book took me to the behind the scenes of cricket, it's really easy for us to say standing out of the stadium, "Oh! Why did he do that?" or " Why did he do this?" but it's not as easy as we think. Sometimes people say that "He is not a good captain, change him", but we can never understand what that person is undergoing.
This book taught me many things. I would recommend this book to you even if you are not a cricket fan. It's an awesome book. I devoured each and every page, each and every chapter of this book. This book just gave me a fantabulous start to this year.
